Doll DIY: Winter Gear!

So I'm pretty handy with a crochet hook and whenever I take the wigs off dolls I'm working on, I don't really like to leave their poor little heads naked so I put on this:
Molly modeling my hat a few months back!
It's a beanie I made forever ago! The point of this story is that my best friend has four modern dolls and I decided that I should just make hat and mitten sets for her dolls as well as for my three! I finished up her sets this week and as her birthday is today actually, I mailed them Monday. Today she got them so I feel like I can show them off!

All the hats

Now for individual pictures:

Kailey got the sea-green set with crab buttons!

Marisol got the self-striping pink and black yarn with pink sparkly heart buttons!

Saige  got the blue and yellow set with silver sun buttons!

And

You all remember Laura right?
Laura got the red set with red heart buttons!

Love those crab buttons!
All the mittens had to have buttons because I made the strings removable!

Kit modeled the red set for you guys!

No coat

With her coat!
I LOVE the mittens! They were seriously my favorite part of this whole project and everything is really fast to make too!

For those that would like to make their own sets I modified this pattern for the hat. This is my modified version:

American Girl Beanie

H hook and worsted weight yarn.

1. 6 dc into magic circle
2. ch2 , 2 dc in each stitch, 3 dc in ch2 spot of the previous round (the last bit), ch1, slip to join
3. ch2 *2dc, 1dc repeat from * around - slip to join
4. ch2, *2dc, dc 1 in next 2 stitches repeat from * around - slip to join
5. ch2 *2 dc, 1 dc in next 3 stitches repeat from * around - slip to join
6. ch2 *2dc, 1 dc in next 4 stitches repeat from * around - slip to join
7. ch2, dc around, slip to join
8. ch2, dc around, slip to join
9. ch2, dc around, slip to join
10.ch1 * sc, sc in back loop * around till desired length. Tie off

I got the pattern for the mittens here! They are called mittens on a string. I just made my string removable.

I do have some pretty exciting news! I just ordered something from my childhood that should be arriving next week and I will make sure to share that! Also the special doll that I've mention at least once on here is going to arrive within the next few weeks. I can't wait for her debut and I will be doing a review and comparison with my other girls when she gets here! Till next time!
