Doll!Sam and the Traveling Brother

Hey everyone! I just wanted to give you all a quick update on my boy doll project. Sam has had a lot going on the past week or so. He's gone from a slightly beat up brunette to a gorgeous blond boy!

First off he got a good cleaning. Luckily most of the marks came right off with the help of a magic eraser but (if you remember from my first post about him) there were three particularly bad ones. The magic eraser didn't even make a dent on these but a few days with some benzoyl peroxide did the trick!

We'll start with the least bothersome:

Sam had a pink mark on his hip! I'm not sure what caused it but it appeared to be pink marker maybe? Above you can see what it looked like the day I got him and after being treated with benzoyl peroxide for about five days.

And below:
Is how it looks after two additional days of treatment. I'm calling this one pretty much done!

Next up is his bad tattoo:

It was very dark blue the day I got him. After about five days it had faded to a nice pale green and:
Two days later it's nearly gone. I will be doing another treatment here soon to see if I can fade it a little more and will also be cleaning up the last of the scuffs and marks on the bottom of his foot.

Last but not least is the pink mark on his arm. This is the one that I REALLY want gone!

Though I didn't get the best picture of it the day I got him you can see how bright and how large the mark was. Five days later it had faded quite a bit and a lot of the smaller pink marks were gone. After two more days:
It's very nearly gone! I will be doing another treatment in a couple of days and see if we can get rid of it completely. Benzoyl peroxide is the stuff man!

He had a few scratches and they've been sanded smooth with fine-grit sandpaper. Really he's just had a total check up and been cleaned up! His eye is still sticky but as I said in my first post about him I'm not too worried about it.

Another bit of exciting news is that I got his wig! I have to say that I am very impressed with the company I ordered from! Check out these adorable boxes my wigs came in:
The yellow has Sam's new hair in it and the brown is for one of my boys. You have to wait to see it!

His wig was wrapped in tissue paper and then plastic and then a hair net!
I'm just very impressed and even though I never got any shipping info for the wigs they arrived fast. So I have no complaints and will be buying wigs from them probably from now on.

He does have his wig glued on now. Which was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. It's hard to tie those short hairs out of the way and I ended up getting a bit (read a lot) of glue in his hair! Luckily most of it came out really easy. And because I'm super excited I'm going to give you guys a sneak peek:
Isn't he adorable?!

Today he had the rest of his face paint washed off and he got repainted. I wanted a more subtle look instead of looking like he was wearing lipstick and blush. I'm not sure I like what I used though so I'm taking a few days to consider it before I show it off.

Some of his clothes are ordered but I have a few more pieces to buy before he's finished. There is a good reason I haven't bought everything for him yet. And that is that I found the doll to make his brother with!! Doll!Jay should arrive at my house tomorrow and I am so excited! You should expect a post about him in the next few days.

Well that is about it for this update. So far I am very pleased and if you couldn't tell really excited and I hope you guys are too! I really enjoy sharing the process of making custom dolls. Till next time!
