Meet Charlotte (and the Plaid Party Dress)

Is that a new doll? Why yes it is. Let me tell you all about her!

The second week of December my husband and I traveled up to the Kansas City area to visit our families and it just so happened that our birthday (We were born on the same day! He's about 6 hours older than me.) was the day after we were planning on coming back. I did get a gift card from my in-laws but I hadn't planned on going to the KC store just because we really didn't have the time. But my husband, being a total sweetheart, made some time and took me there the morning we were leaving KC as a birthday surprise.

I wasn't sure I was going to get a doll but if I did it was between #58 and #26. In the end my husband chose and I walked out with #58 and a bunch of clothes to review in the next couple of months.
The little cartoon her is so cute!

You'll have to excuse some of these pictures. There was NO way I was going to wait till we got home to get her out so the unboxing took place in the car!
There is my first look at her.

And here is her face close up:

At first her hair was a bit compressed from the hair net.

But after some gentle finger combing (and a quick outfit change!) it came to life:
I would like you to meet Miss Charlotte Marie or Charlie for short. I'm not sure what kind of doll she will be (modern or historical) but I do know that I love her to bits! We're still working on discovering who she is and what she likes but I'll let you guys know as soon as we do.

For now she's loving the Plaid Party Dress and so am I! It's adorable.

Here are a few close ups of the dress:
 And the pretty diamond barrette:
 And the pretty blue sandals:
It's a bit chilly for this time of year but we're adding tights and a sweater for Christmas.

Now back to Charlie! And her gorgeous curls:
And her sweet little face with those big brown eyes:
Yeah, can you tell I'm in love? Best birthday!

Have one more for the road:
Hope you liked seeing our first new family member! Come back later today for another introduction. It's been a very doll-centric birthday! Till then!
